The history of Troop 116

Troop 116 was founded in 1913 and rechartered in 1915. Since then it has graduated 86 Eagle Scouts.

(While admirably succinct, that is not the entire story. We will have more for you later. For now, we would like to point out that the surly-looking lad in the back row, third from the left, is still highly active in the troop as Assistant Scoutmaster Stew Lee—and that we still call Scoutmaster-emeritus Merritt Rhode [front row, third from left] out of retirement to help captain a boat on our occasional summer sailing trips.)
